About Little Shop of Happiness

Hi, my name is Ali, welcome to my Little Shop of Happiness! I hope you enjoy all that I have to offer here. My main wish for you is to discover a way to tap into your own joy whilst here.

A little about me.

I think for as long as I can remember I had a fascination for how people tick. It was as if my life was just geared that way.

As a child things were difficult and I created coping mechanisms when chaos was all around me, some mechanisms were helpful and some not so much, but all of it showed me that I wanted to learn more about me and about how we as humans can grow, love, forgive, contribute, lead purposeful lives and be there for each other.

It was as if it was my calling. I found that when I worked from this premise, all was good in my life and when I diverted it would lead me to feel sad and anxious. I therefore learnt to understand the effect this had on me and how appreciating the little things, the beauty around me, gratitude and surrounding myself with things that made me smile, helped to put me back in my purposeful place.

Having worked in social care for over thirty years, I was privileged to meet many people, who shared their stories, but had become conditioned by their circumstances, I too, could relate to this but seeing the difference human kindness can make to another, made a massive difference to me and to their lives too.

I began to want to delve deeper and find answers that could help others, myself and my family to want more in our lives and provide the true happiness we desired. So I went on to study counselling and became an NLP Practitioner and Hypnotherapist which gave me a truer understanding of human potential and possibilities.

Little Shop of Happiness

Throughout my life I have collected things, ideas, learnings, items that I have found useful to aid my happiness. I could really say my life so far has been a testament of wanting to find truths and make the world a brighter positive one.

I have two beautiful girls and its important to me to bring them up to be strong independent women, who know who they are and that they can tap into their joy, so initially I began collecting these things to build on myself, tap into my own joy and lead the way. I want my girls to see the beauty in each and every day but I also know that life has its challenges and so everything I offer in my Little Shop of Happiness will help find that beauty and tap into that joy.

Little Shop of Happiness, is a collection of books, journals, beautiful gift items, blogs, wisdom and generally anything that I have found useful on my life’s journey that puts a smile on my face, with the intention of making a difference to you. It is a place of well-meaning, opportunity and possibility of finding that little gem that makes your life happier

My Intentions

My intentions is that you see that Little Shop of Happiness, is my passion, I want it to be a welcoming place where you tap into your own joy, that you feel amongst kindred spirits who believe you can have true happiness. It is a place of knowledge and truth, where you can find beautiful items that inspire you, that you want in your surroundings to ignite passion, belief and generally attract the happiness you deserve.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and as I would love to help you out and remember happiness starts with you.

  4. Wow, how great of an attitude you have. I love what you are doing and yes, it is great to share happiness and watch it light up faces of others. You will do well with this. Great bio!

    • Thank you for such kind words. It means a lot that readers can see the benefit of what I want from my site. If I’m making a difference to another then that is incredible. Best Wishes Ali

  5. I find it so interesting that you actually found it interesting learning how people “ticked.” I never, ever thought of that for at least the first 30 years of my life. I was completely oblivious to the very idea.
As I got older, I realized, (to my surprise) that I was completely self-absorbed and that I was often having fun at other people’s expense.
To draw on another phrase of yours, I was “strong and independent,” but to a fault.
Any way, good for you to have started from such a good place. I’m sure you have much to offer.

    • Thank you for your response, I think we all find ways to navigate life, giving ourselves what we need at the time. I truly hope my offerings will benefit someone. Best wishes Ali

  6. Your story is so inspiring. I actually never think about collecting and keeping things of happiness for any extended period of time. Usually, I will keep them for a few years and then I get rid of them if they don’t appeal to me anymore. Your idea here is a great one. Collecting things that can bring some happiness certainly can strengthen within.

    • Thank you Carol, for your lovely response. Its true that sometimes we change and things don’t appeal any longer but I tend to use my senses for well being, if I can smell lovely flowers and see things like a picture of the sea that I just love, these are all the things that feed my soul. Then when I am not out and about in nature I have them in my home to remind me of that happy, contented feeling.

  7. Thank you, Ali, for sharing this with me. I was always told that things like nature and those little things in life are what truly make a person happy. As I start to take more time to enjoy my surroundings instead of just passing them by, I feel a sense of peace and calmness that I never had before. Please keep up the excellent work here!

    • Hi Gregory, thank you for taking the time to read my post and comment. I’m glad you are gaining the benefit from your surroundings, its incredible how much joy it can bring to your life, once you begin taking that time for yourself to notice. Thank you for your kind words, I will certainly be posting more for all to access.
